We start June with a diverse and energetic Friday, taking you on a journey from minimal house, to progressive and even a taste of trance.
The strong selection for this night consists of French duo Pureblast (formerly known as Baraka), Amsterdam based Aedis and Enschede’s own MAUDIE.
David Iriarte is the name behind AEDIS, hailing from Barcelona and currently based in Amsterdam. This project finds the artist diving deeper into a sound he’s been shaping over time, refining its identity through subtle evolution and focus. The project leans into an off-centre dance sound — deep, dub-tinged, and anchored in groove and movement. It builds on techno’s pulse and minimal structure, keeping the rhythm upfront while letting small shifts and textures do the talking.
His releases traverse the deeper territories of tech house before conjuring up mystic 2-step and delving into rolling techno. The sense of spaciousness throughout the EPs is vivid, perpetually unfolding modulated delays; cavernous reverb; weighty, grounding sub frequencies. This expanse is punctuated by fragmentary voices, psychedelic refrains, intricate break deployment and thudding bass tones.
Bringing together happy energy and real emotion on the dance floor, MAUDIE her sets are high-energy and groove-driven, starting fast and powerful before opening up into more emotional, melodic moments. She focuses on creating a strong flow, where energy and feeling come together in a way that feels natural and honest.
She started DJing in 2024, when music and festivals became an important way to deal with personal loss and find joy again. What began as something very personal grew into a true passion. This has led her to play at festivals like De Reactie and Freshtival, and at club nights in Metropool. Her goal is simple: to make people feel good, let go, and enjoy the moment, always creating a strong connection and memories that last.
New name, same power: Pureblast (formerly known as Baraka) channels the explosive and contagious energy of the duo. While born for the stage, their roots remain deeply anchored in DJ culture. Behind the decks, the duo unleash the same restless energy as in their productions, channeling it into intense and unpredictable DJ sets.
Their selections fuse percussive techno, deep progressive trance, tech house, as well as rave and hard-edged electronic sounds into high-voltage journeys. From hypnotic build-ups to deep bass grooves, their sets are designed to captivate, drive and ignite the crowd. Pureblast create a deep, seductive atmosphere that compels the floor to move, pulsing with intensity and subtle, irresistible sensuality. Because they are musicians above all, their sets are true musical journeys where styles and genres intertwine seamlessly, crafting an authentic narrative on dancefloors.
