DE ONTGROENING was founded out of a need for an alternative nightlife in Enschede: a space where music, atmosphere, and community come first, free from mainstream party formats. The name (“De Ontgroening” literally means the initiation or de-greening) plays with the idea of stripping away conventions—not in the sense of hazing rituals, but in creating a culture where barriers between people and music dissolve.
